This includes everyone from our loyal customers to our team members." Michael is the president and owner of Creative Lighting and has been involved in lighting since 1977. After a long time in the industry, he is still intrigued by how decorative lighting continues to evolve in ways that he would never have imagined just a few years ago.

The longest-serving member on our staff, and brother to Michael, Jonathan has been at Creative Lighting since 1973. Most of his work is behind-the-scenes, in managing the products displayed in our showroom as well as those which are special orders for our customers. He works directly with more than 200 suppliers, both International and US-based, to ensure that your lights are available when you need them. "After 44 years in this business, the best part of my job is working with nice people everyday- our wonderful staff and customers," says Jonathan.

Creative Lighting was founded by my grandfather in 1926. My Brother and I took over the business from our father in 1983. After over 80 years in the business we have an understanding of the lighting field that many people, especially those in a superstore just don't have.

Our showroom and warehouse are filled with fixtures. We understand how delays wreak havoc with building schedules, so if you are placing an order for your entire house, or a single room, we can usually give you immediate delivery - without compromising your design (or budget) decisions.

No Hassle Return and Exchange Policy

We want to make sure you're happy. If you are unsatisfied with any Creative Lighting product for any reason, we are pleased to accept your returns. However, please note the following:

  • We accept normal stocking merchandise returns within 30 days of receipt date.
  • Products eligible for return must be new, unused, unaltered and contain all original product packaging.
  • Fixtures with cut wires, missing parts, missing glass or damage are not returnable.
  • Special order items are subject to a 25% restocking charge.

Design Consultations

Give us a call and we'll arrange a meeting in our St. Paul store with one of our trained design consultants. They'll be happy to help you define your lighting needs and offer suggestions on how to accomplish the best design for your space. Our consultants can work off blueprints for a whole home plan, or help design a single room in your home.

If you just want to have a look at the newest fixtures to get some ideas, stop by anytime! To ensure delivery of your fixtures, plan to visit Creative Lighting at least eight weeks before your move in date.

The customer is responsible for all applicable taxes.

Shipping Policy:

  • Free shipping on orders over $75.
  • Free shipping does not apply to selected manufacturers, oversized, special or custom order items. If shipping charges apply, we will notify you before the order is processed.
  • Some larger items many have to ship via common carrier. In this case you are responsible for removing the items off the back of the truck to your home. A responsible party, over 18 years of age, must be present to accept delivery and sign for the shipment.
  • We ship within the 48 contiguous United States.
  • We are unable to ship to P.O. boxes or military APO/FPO addresses.


Order cancellations for items not yet shipped, are accepted via email to within 24 hours or order placement. Cancellations are subject to the manufacturer’s cancellation fees and policies.


Creative Lighting is not liable for any damage or expense as a result of a delay due to any cause beyond our control.

Claims and Damaged Goods:

Claims for shortages, damaged merchandise (concealed or visible), or other errors must be made via email to within 48 hours after receiving the shipment. Failure to do so constitutes acceptance and a waiver of all such claims. Please do not sign and/or accept receipt of any products that are visibly damaged. Refuse delivery and contact our customer service team. Products received with broken glass, missing parts or dented shades will be provided replacement glass, shades or parts at no charge.

Return and Refund Policy:

  • Returns are accepted within 30 days of receipt.
  • Items returned in original condition and packaging, new, unused, unaltered, uninstalled, with no cut or clipped wires will be accepted for return. Products and packaging not in original condition cannot be accepted for return.
  • Ceiling fans should be returned with the fan blades in their sealed packaging to qualify for return.
  • Selected manufacturers, oversized, special or custom items incur a minimum 25% restocking fee. If re-stocking fees apply, we will notify you before the order is processed.
  • Ship returns prepaid and insured. If the return is due to our error, we will issue a call tag for pick up. Please call our customer service department at 651 647 0111 or email us at for more information.
  • Refunds for returns are credited to the original form of payment. Allow 10 business days from the receipt of a return for the credit to be processed and appear on your statement.
  • Shipping charges and other fees are not refundable.
  • Outbound shipping charges will be deducted from the refund total.
  • Due to the nature of some types of orders the general return policy will not apply. Exceptions include:
    • Orders for 5 or more of the same item are subject to a 25% restocking charge. For large quantity orders it is recommended a sample is ordered first to ensure the item meets requirements.
    • Custom orders.


Creative Lighting honors the manufacturer warranty. We reserve the right to decide whether to repair or replace defective merchandise. We are not responsible for electrician or any other labor fee.

Pricing and Product Discrepancies:

Creative Lighting makes every effort to assure the accuracy of the pricing and product information on our website. From time to time, pricing or product information may be inaccurate. In such cases, we reserve the right to cancel or amend your order. A complete refund will be made for any items that have not yet been shipped. In the event of inaccurate product information, our sole responsibility will be to accept the product return and provide a customer refund.


Creative Lighting reserves the right to modify or change the Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice.
